About YogaSutra Studio

YogaSutra Studio
YogaSutra was founded in 2003 and has grown to become one of Bangkok’s longest-standing yoga studios. Over the years, thousands of students have practiced here, each arriving with different intentions—some seeking physical strength and mobility, others searching for balance, clarity, or a deeper connection with themselves.

From the beginning, YogaSutra has been guided by a simple idea: yoga is a practice that develops awareness of the body, the breath, and the mind.
While modern yoga is often associated with physical postures, the deeper value of the practice lies in how it teaches us to pay attention—to how we move, how we breathe, and how our state of mind changes through practice.
At YogaSutra, classes are designed to create a space where this exploration can happen with care and consistency. Students are encouraged to approach practice with curiosity rather than pressure, allowing their understanding of yoga to evolve naturally over time.

For many people, YogaSutra becomes more than a place to attend a class. It becomes a steady part of their life rhythm—a space where they return regularly to move, breathe, and reconnect with themselves.

The YogaSutra Approach

At YogaSutra, yoga is approached as an ongoing process of learning rather than a collection of poses to achieve. Practice becomes meaningful when students begin to observe how their bodies move, how their breath responds, and how attention influences the quality of each movement.

Our teaching encourages students to move with awareness and patience. Instead of striving for extreme flexibility or perfect shapes, the emphasis is placed on developing a balanced and sustainable relationship with practice. Strength, mobility, coordination, and stability are cultivated gradually through consistent exploration.
Breath awareness is an important part of this process. By paying attention to the rhythm of the breath, students begin to notice how the nervous system responds to effort, rest, and stillness. Over time, this awareness helps bring greater clarity and steadiness to both practice and daily life.

While YogaSutra is guided by shared principles of mindful movement, breath awareness, and long-term sustainability in practice, each teacher brings their own experience and perspective to the classroom.

We believe that authentic teaching grows from personal practice. For this reason, our instructors are encouraged to teach in their own voice while remaining aligned with the broader philosophy of the studio. This allows students to encounter yoga through different perspectives while continuing to develop a consistent and supportive practice environment.

Ultimately, the intention of practice at YogaSutra is simple: to create a space where students can explore movement, breath, and awareness with curiosity and respect for the process of learning.

Why YogaSutra Has Endured Since 2003

Yoga trends come and go, but meaningful practice tends to endure.

YogaSutra has remained part of Bangkok’s yoga landscape for more than two decades because the focus has always been on thoughtful teaching and consistent practice rather than short-term trends.

Students often arrive for different reasons—curiosity, physical discomfort, stress, or the desire to improve mobility and strength. Over time, many discover that yoga offers something deeper: a way to understand their bodies, regulate their energy, and create space for clarity within busy lives.

As students continue practicing, their relationship with yoga evolves. What begins as a class gradually becomes a personal practice, and the studio becomes a familiar place where learning continues year after year.

This long-standing community of students and teachers is what has allowed YogaSutra to remain active and relevant for more than twenty years.

The Founder

YogaSutra is guided by Nisachon Xu (Za), a yoga teacher who has been devoted to the study and practice of yoga and movement for many years.

Her journey into yoga began as a personal exploration of movement, awareness, and the relationship between the body and the mind. Over time, this interest gradually expanded into a deeper curiosity about how the body adapts to practice and how thoughtful movement can support long-term well-being.

Through her teaching, Za aims to create an environment where students feel comfortable exploring their practice at their own pace. Rather than focusing on achieving perfect poses, she encourages students to observe how their bodies move, how the breath responds, and how awareness develops through consistent practice.

Over the years, her studies have included traditional yoga training as well as continued learning in anatomy, biomechanics, and movement education. These perspectives help inform the way yoga is taught at YogaSutra, allowing the practice to remain both respectful of tradition and responsive to modern understanding of the body.

Her work also connects closely with the perspective of movement therapy through Loft Physioterapy Clinic, where an understanding of injury, recovery, and physical health continues to influence how yoga practice is approached.

In addition to teaching students, Za also works with yoga teachers who wish to deepen their understanding of practice and teaching methodology.
At the heart of her work is a simple intention: to support a space where yoga can be practiced with curiosity, patience, and respect for the process of learning.

Why Practice At YogaSutra

Yoga practice can take many forms depending on a student’s needs, stage of learning, and personal intentions. At YogaSutra, we offer several pathways that allow students to engage with yoga in ways that support both physical development and deeper awareness.

Some students are drawn to the shared rhythm of group practice, while others benefit from individualized guidance or specialized programs. Each pathway provides a different way to explore movement, breath, and attention while developing a sustainable relationship with practice.

Studio Practice

Studio practice remains the foundation of YogaSutra. Practicing together in a group environment creates a rhythm that encourages consistency, learning, and gradual development over time.
Our classes explore different aspects of movement, breath, and mindful attention. Rather than focusing solely on achieving poses, students are guided to observe how their bodies move, how their breath responds, and how awareness shapes the quality of practice.
Within this supportive environment, students can continue refining their practice while being part of a community that values curiosity and long-term learning.

Online Practice

For students who cannot always attend the studio in person, YogaSutra offers live online classes streamed directly from our studio spaces.
Online practice allows students to maintain continuity in their yoga journey while traveling or practicing from home. It also provides a flexible way to stay connected with teachers and the YogaSutra community.
For students with an active monthly studio membership, access to online classes is complimentary, making it easier to maintain a consistent practice regardless of location.

Private Practice Sessions

Private sessions offer a more individualized approach to yoga practice. Working one-on-one with a teacher allows practice to be adapted to each student’s unique needs, physical considerations, and personal goals.
These sessions may focus on refining movement patterns, developing greater body awareness, addressing specific physical challenges, or building a personal practice that can evolve over time.
For many students, private sessions provide an opportunity to explore yoga with greater depth and attention.

Movement & Recovery

Some students come to yoga seeking support for recovery from injury, discomfort, or long-standing movement patterns.
Movement & Recovery sessions integrate yoga practice with principles of movement therapy and rehabilitation. The emphasis is on gradually restoring mobility, strength, and confidence in movement while respecting the body’s current capacity.
This work is closely connected with the expertise of Loft Physio Clinic, allowing yoga practice to be informed by clinical understanding of movement, rehabilitation, and long-term physical health.

Self Practice — Vinyasa Krama Method

YogaSutra also supports practitioners who wish to cultivate an independent yoga practice through the Vinyasa Krama Method (VKM) taught by Matthew Sweeney.
This structured approach encourages students to develop discipline and self-awareness through a consistent sequence of movements practiced independently. Over time, self-practice allows practitioners to deepen their understanding of yoga while moving at their own rhythm.
For many students, this pathway becomes a powerful way to build a long-term personal relationship with practice.

Teacher Development

For yoga teachers who wish to refine their teaching skills, YogaSutra offers coaching and mentorship sessions focused on developing clarity and confidence in teaching.
These sessions explore areas such as sequencing, movement observation, teaching methodology, and the integration of anatomy and biomechanics into yoga instruction.
Teacher development at YogaSutra supports educators who are committed to teaching yoga with depth, care, and understanding.

Sound Therapy

Sound Therapy offers a restorative and meditative dimension of practice.
Using singing bowls and resonant sound frequencies, these sessions guide the body and nervous system into a state of deep relaxation. The vibrations of sound support the release of tension while encouraging mental clarity and inner stillness.
Sound Therapy complements physical yoga practice by creating space for rest, integration, and deeper awareness.

Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal Yoga is designed to support the changing needs of the body during pregnancy.
Classes emphasize gentle movement, breath awareness, and restorative practices that help maintain mobility while promoting relaxation and connection with the body.
These sessions provide a supportive environment where expectant mothers can move comfortably and prepare both physically and mentally for childbirth.

Movement Assessment

Understanding how the body moves can be an important step toward developing a more effective practice.
Our Movement Assessment evaluates posture, spinal mobility, joint function, and overall movement patterns. By observing how the body moves, we can help identify areas that may benefit from greater awareness, mobility, or support.
These insights can guide students toward practices that improve movement efficiency and support long-term physical well-being.

Energy Balance Assessment

In traditional yoga philosophy, chakras are described as energetic centers associated with different aspects of physical and emotional well-being.
Using Bio-Well GDV technology, the Energy Balance Assessment provides insight into the body’s energetic field and the balance of these centers.
This assessment can help guide practices that support greater harmony between the physical body, the breath, and the energetic dimensions of well-being.

Corporate Wellness Programs

YogaSutra also offers customized wellness programs designed to support health and well-being within the workplace.
These programs may include yoga classes, mobility practices, breathwork sessions, relaxation techniques, or educational workshops related to movement and stress management.
Each program can be tailored to the specific needs of an organization, helping employees cultivate greater balance, focus, and resilience in their daily work environment.
